Field Service Engineer – Chicago, IL, United States

C-RAD is an expanding global medical device company with headquarter in Uppsala, Sweden. We develop, manufacture, and sell innovative solutions to healthcare customers. The focus is on patient positioning, monitoring, and imaging within Radiation Therapy (RT). We are a market leader in the field of optical patient positioning.

Our products enable precision treatments through positioning and monitoring of patients in radiation therapy, which maximize the dose in tumors and minimize the dose in surrounding tissues. Our products support all major Photon and Proton therapy systems.

C-RAD is expanding our US-based Service team with two open positions, one in Chicago and one in Seattle – apply now and join the fight against cancer!

About the opportunity

In the position as Field Service Engineer at C-RAD you will pursue installations and maintenance on our innovative products within Radiation Therapy, primarily for the Chicago region but with the possibility to travel the entire USA and Canada.

In the Field Service Engineer role at C-RAD you will plan and perform installations and customer acceptance, perform on site service work, plan and carry out preventive maintenance in your region and provide customer support from the home office when assigned.

Responsibilities and tasks

• Prepare installations, service and support activities in line with the company’s procedures and routines

• Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches

• Manage on site installation, repair, maintenance and testing tasks

• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions

• Provide basic customer technical training related to the products

• Produce timely and detailed service reports in line with the company’s procedures

• Provide feedback from observations and/or suggest improvements related to products and product performance into the feedback system

• Build positive relationships with customers and colleagues

• Support customers remotely when assigned to the 1st line support function

Qualifications and experience

• Engineer/technical degree in Electronics, Mechanics, Computer engineering or IT, or equivalent working experience.

• Experience and knowledge in IT infrastructure, how computer systems interface and communicate over the network

• Experience and knowledge in the radiotherapy environment is beneficial but not required

• Fluent and strong knowledge in English language required

• Ability to travel 50-75%
