Job Title: Field Service Engineer – I&E (Instrumentation & Electrical)

Job Overview:

I’m currently working with a leading company in the oil and gas industry, and they are looking for a skilled Field Service Engineer – I&E to join their team in Midland, Texas. This position can be either permanent or contract, offering flexibility to suit your career goals. If you have a strong background in instrumentation and electrical systems, automation, and troubleshooting, this is the opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, operate, and maintain industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, process instrumentation, and electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot control equipment, electrical systems, and instrumentation at production facilities, including gathering, disposal, injection, vapor recovery, and LACT systems.
• Load software changes on PLCs (Allen Bradley, Schneider, GE, Idec, Automation Direct, Siemens) and HMIs (Allen Bradley, GE, Idec, Automation Direct, Siemens, Red Lion, Maple).
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards while performing all work.
• Provide technical support to clients, helping solve complex equipment performance issues and optimize systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and testing on various instrumentation systems.
• Collaborate with project managers and field teams to meet deadlines and project goals.
• Generate technical reports regarding installations, inspections, and maintenance.
• Train clients’ operational teams on equipment use and best maintenance practices.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree or relevant technical certifications in Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer, ideally within the oil and gas industry.
• Strong experience with automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, process control systems, and electrical systems.
• Expertise in troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation systems in production environments.
• Strong working knowledge of Allen Bradley, Schneider, GE, Idec, Automation Direct, Siemens PLCs and HMIs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced field environment.
• Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment and travel to various job sites when needed.
• A strong commitment to safety standards and procedures.
