We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team in Houston, TX. This role is integral to designing, implementing, and optimizing our network infrastructure to support organizational growth and ensure reliable connectivity. The ideal candidate will bring advanced expertise in routing, network architecture, and hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.

This position requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills, deep technical knowledge, and the ability to work cross-functionally to support business continuity and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing network architectures.
• Configure and maintain network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Troubleshoot complex LAN/WAN issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
• Monitor network performance and apply best practices for maintenance and improvement.
• Lead or contribute to network-related projects and infrastructure upgrades.
• Ensure adherence to network security policies and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to support infrastructure goals and resolve issues.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Advanced knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).
• Proven experience designing and maintaining enterprise-level networks.
• Hands-on experience with routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Expertise with firewalls, VPNs, and related security appliances.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across LAN/WAN environments.
• Solid grasp of IP addressing, subnetting, and routing.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and performance tuning.
• Project management experience within IT/networking contexts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Industry certifications such as CCNP/CCIE or NSE 4/5.
• Experience in network security, threat mitigation, and firewall policies.
• Knowledge of scripting/automation (Python, Ansible, etc.).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and hybrid network design.
• Understanding of VoIP, Unified Communications (UC), and wireless networking.
• Background in designing networks with high availability and disaster recovery in mind.
• Experience configuring and managing QoS for application prioritization.

Education Requirements:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related technical field; or
• Equivalent technical education and certification.
