The Impact You'll Have:

The HR Intern will assist the Human Resources department in various administrative and operational functions. This position provides an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in HR practices within a dynamic and fast-paced civil engineering firm. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and detail-oriented individual with an interest in HR processes and recruiting.

Tasks You'll Assist With:

  • Support the onboarding process for new employees, including preparing documentation and orientation agendas.
  • Assist in the recruitment process by reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, and maintaining candidate databases.
  • Source potential candidates through LinkedIn, Indeed and other job platforms.
  • Help in managing employee records and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Assist in organizing employee engagement activities and events.
  • Help maintain and update HR databases and systems.
  • Conduct research and assist in preparing reports related to HR metrics and trends.
  • Participate in HR projects related to employee training and development.
  • Provide administrative support to HR staff, including scheduling meetings and preparing meeting agendas.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Prior internship or volunteer experience in HR or a related field is a plus, but not required.

The pay rate for this position is expected to be $21-23 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
