Role Overview

We are seeking a Pharmacy Prior Authorization Specialist to join our Prior Authorization team and deliver exceptional service to patients and partners. This is a full-time, onsite role in Robinson Township, Pittsburgh.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate new prior authorization requests with providers.
  • Identify and complete correct prior authorization forms for insurance providers.
  • Coordinate with prescribers and medical offices to ensure accurate information.
  • Follow up on prior authorization status and communicate updates to patients and providers.
  • Handle appeals and respond to internal inquiries related to prior authorizations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Customer service or inbound call center experience required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with sound judgment and technical skills.
  • Passion for patient care and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Flexible to work shifts between 8 AM – 8 PM .

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year experience with prior authorizations or insurance verification in a pharmacy.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy benefits and claims.

Schedule & Location

  • 40 hours/week (rotational shifts: 9 AM–5 PM, 10 AM–6 PM, occasional 12 PM–8 PM).
  • Rotational Saturday shift: 9 AM–5 PM .
  • 100% onsite in Robinson Township, Pittsburgh, PA.
