Job Description
Lamart Corporation is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Clifton, NJ team. The ideal candidate possesses both a high level of technical expertise and an innate passion to build. This role will play a critical part in creating and refining processes in order to improve manufacturing safety, quality, and productivity.
Responsibilities include:
- Drive continuous improvement activities on the production floor. Key success factors include increasing safety, reducing equipment downtime, improving throughput and reducing cost
- Perform root cause analysis and provide engineering support to resolve manufacturing issues
- Develop and improve SOPs and/or work instructions
- Mechanical design of machine components, provide CAD drawings for tooling, fixtures and machine parts
- Assist the Maintenance Department with technical guidance and support in parts acquisition
- Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment and parts
Qualifications:
- College degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or other related Engineering discipline
- Min of 2 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical information
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Highly organized, ability to work on multiple projects, managing scope, tasks and timelines
- Minimum of one year experience with SolidWorks CAD software
- Good understanding of GD&T
- Prior experience in mechanical design
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Prior experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban and 5S
