Role Description

This is a contract Oracle Database Services - Sr Tech Specialist role located in Hanover, MD. The Sr Tech Specialist will be responsible for business process consulting, Oracle HR, Oracle Applications, and integration tasks on-site.

Qualifications

• Business Process and Consulting skills
• 15 years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) on Oracle

database version 12c or above to include hands-on with Golden Gate or Oracle

• Data Integrator.
• Experience in Oracle HR and Oracle Applications
• Knowledge of Integration processes
• Certifications in Oracle databases or related fields
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Provide expert technical support for over 400 Oracle databases supporting enterprise applications (myCalPERS, PeopleSoft, BI, Actuarial Valuation).
• Focus on the Business Intelligence (BI) application database for performance tuning, enhancements, and issue resolution.
• Administer Oracle databases, ensuring high availability , performance monitoring , and patch management .
• Perform Oracle 12c to 19c upgrades (including RAC environments).
• Implement and manage Oracle GoldenGate and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) for data integration and replication.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for complex projects involving both on-prem and cloud-based database solutions.
• Research and evaluate new database technologies and tools for modernization.
• Develop and automate database processes using advanced scripting and programming (e.g., PL/SQL, Shell).
