Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our team in Christiansburg, VA. This is a contract-to-hire position ideal for professionals passionate about patient care and medication management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor medication adherence and over-usage trends.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws.
• Assess suitability of prescribed medications for patients.
• Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files.
• Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
• Provide support and consultation on over-the-counter medications and medical devices.
• Deliver clinical services, including:
• Smoking cessation support
• Blood pressure monitoring
• Cholesterol management
• Educate patients on proper use of medical equipment (e.g., glucose meters, BP monitors).
• Compound and prepare sterile and non-sterile medications as needed.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
• Manage inventory and ensure availability of necessary pharmaceutical supplies.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to resolve drug-related issues and optimize care.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited program
• Licensed Pharmacist in the state of Virginia
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience in retail or clinical pharmacy setting preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
