Job Title: School Social Worker – Therapeutic Program

Location: Therapeutic Program, Joliet, 60435

Grades: K-8 (Emotional and Behavioral Needs)

School Year: 2025-2026

Hours: Approximately 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: Starting around $54,000 for first-year candidates

Licensure: IDFPR & PEL required

Position Overview

AnthroMed Education has a wonderful opportunity at a cooperative with a Therapeutic Program as a School Social Worker dedicated to supporting K-8 students with emotional and behavioral needs. This full-time, onsite position offers a supportive environment where you can make a significant impact on students’ lives through comprehensive social work services. With extensive support provided by our cooperative, you will be empowered to implement best practices and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Support:
  • Provide individualized and group social work services to K-8 students experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges.
  • Develop and implement intervention plans that address students’ unique needs.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with teachers, administrators, and related service providers to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and planning sessions to integrate social work strategies into the therapeutic program.
  • Crisis Intervention & Counseling:
  • Offer crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and counseling services as needed.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, modifying intervention strategies accordingly.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records of student interactions, progress, and interventions.
  • Prepare timely reports and documentation in compliance with program and regulatory guidelines.
  • Community Engagement:
  • Foster positive relationships with students, families, and the broader school community.
  • Support the implementation of school-wide initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall emotional and behavioral environment.

Qualifications

  • Education & Licensing:
  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW).
  • Valid PEL (Professional Educator License) is required.
  • IDFPR License
  • Experience & Skills:
  • Experience working with school-aged children, particularly those with emotional and behavioral needs, is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
  • A proactive, empathetic approach to student support and problem-solving.
