Job Description

Shipping Manager paying up to $60K for a growing national corporation in the Carrollton area. The Shipping Manager will oversee and manage all shipping and inventory control. This role will supervise daily operations, maintain communication with other departments and contribute to productivity initiatives while ensuring safety and compliance.

This is a DIRECT HIRE and an IN-OFFICE position!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate and manage the shipment of products from suppliers, ensuring accurate documentation, packaging and labeling
• Develop and implement effective shipping and logistics strategies to meet customer service objectives and company goals
• Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and accurate delivery
• Monitor and track shipment activities, providing regular updates to stakeholders and resolving any issues that may arise
• Oversee inventory management, ensuring accurate stock levels and availability of products for shipment
• Evaluate and select transportation carriers based on cost, reliability and service level agreements
• Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers to optimize transportation costs
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and international trade requirements
• Implement and maintain efficient shipping and logistics processes, including automation and use of technology
• Resolve any shipping discrepancies, such as damaged or lost shipments, and work with carriers and suppliers to resolve claims
• Review and analyze shipping data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
• Train and supervise shipping staff, providing guidance, support and performance feedback
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate’s degree with a minimum of 3 years in a shipping and logistics supervisory role
• Knowledge of relevant shipping regulations and documentation (e.g., Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Customs declarations)
• Experience in using shipping software and warehouse management systems
• Strong understanding of transportation modes, including trucking, air freight, ocean freight and courier services
• Demonstrated ability to manage and negotiate contracts with transportation carriers
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced shipping environment
• Strong leadership and team management skills to motivate and supervise shipping staff
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Familiarity with international trade compliance, including import/export regulations and trade regulations
• Understanding of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement is desired
