Swing Shift: AOD Counselor / Substance Use Treatment Counselor / Case Manager (CADAC, RADT)
Location: 25971 Mar Vista Ct, Los Gatos, CA 95033 – In Person
Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM (occasional weekends as needed)
Reports To: Clinical Director / Program Coordinator / Manager
Pay: $24+ (RADT), CADAC I up to $25–$30, CADAC II up to $33

About the Role
Wellness is seeking a compassionate and skilled AOD Counselor / Case Manager who thrives in group facilitation and enjoys supporting clients in their recovery journey. This role focuses on counseling clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and with co-occurring disorders in a residential treatment setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide the 12 Core Functions of counseling , including intake, assessments, orientation, counseling, case management, education, group facilitation, individual sessions, documentation, referrals, and crisis management
- Facilitate groups with a trauma-informed approach , emphasizing recovery and co-occurring disorders
- Prepare and maintain clinical documentation: treatment plans, progress notes, group/individual notes, staffing reports, incident reports
- Conduct crisis intervention, de-escalation, and emergency management when needed
- Collaborate with the clinical team and present case updates during staff meetings
- Conduct testing (urine screens, breathalyzers, etc.) and support detox monitoring when appropriate
- Communicate with referral sources and maintain an extensive referral network
- Assist with cross-trained tasks when needed (e.g., taking vitals, observing self-administration of medication, documenting med logs, supporting doctor visits)
- Promote and maintain a safe, therapeutic, and professional work environment in compliance with HIPAA and policies
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of substance use counseling experience (required)
- Knowledge of substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, PAWS, detox medications, and crisis intervention
- Registered, Certified, or Licensed by a CA-recognized certifying body (CADC, CATC, or equivalent preferred)
- High school diploma or GED required; advanced education in behavioral health a plus
- Current TB test results (annual requirement)
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Ability to recognize signs of impairment, work effectively as part of a treatment team, and communicate clearly with clients, staff, and families
- Must comply with drug-free workplace guidelines and maintain client confidentiality
- Valid California Driver’s License
