Job Description

Neosem Technology is looking for a Consulting Technical Writer for 12 months. This individual is responsible for translating technical information into easily understandable documents. These documents will be for both technical and non-technical audiences. They need to work with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and technicians to create comprehensive documentation.

Scope of Work Examples:

API manuals, manufacturing process instructions (MPI’s), service documentation; training materials, application notes, and user guides.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Solid State Device Test Equipment is preferred but not required
• Ability to read and understand software
• Writes technical documents and manuals according to customer specifications
• Research existing data to maximize use of previously developed text and/or illustrations
• Draft text materials to ensure text and illustrations are completed and coordinated per final product requirements
• Track and record time spent on projects
• Consistent style and formatting defined by detailed templates
• Communicate status of work to management and any needs for additional information, technical procedures, etc.
• Complete assigned tasks according to established deadlines and customer requirements

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• Hybrid work
• May be required to work in a development lab.
• May be required (on short notice) to work overtime/additional hours to meet deadlines; may occasionally require working weekends and/or holidays, as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is required
• Associate degree in a technical or mechanical field or equivalent work experience is required

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Two to five (2-5) years of experience in software development, engineering, or writing field writing complete, complex technical documents, including organizing the document and working with internal and external personnel.
• Basic knowledge of C++ and Python
• Ability to simplify complex concepts and communicate them clearly and concisely.
• Strong research and self-learning skills to study and understand new technologies independently.
• Experience working closely with technical staff to gather technical information and ensure accuracy.
• Proficiency in formatting documentation according to predefined standards and templates.
• Experience revising content written by subject matter experts whose first language may not be English.
• Experience working in a technical writing team with minimal supervision.
• Experience independently defining and driving technical documentation projects.
• Proven experience designing and delivering technical and business documentation
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced, changing environment
