Brieser Construction is currently looking to add a Corporate Safety Trainer to join our growing group of hardworking, intelligent, and dedicated employees. The Corporate Safety Trainer is responsible for delivering and proctoring a variety of training topics for our construction operations located primarily in Petrochemical and Energy plants.
Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements
· OSHA Authorized Trainer (completed OSHA 500 and 510 courses)
· Industry Experience: Demonstrated experience in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, construction management, environmental health and safety, or a related field
· Instructional Skills: Proven ability to teach adult learners, communicate complex information clearly, and adapt instruction to diverse audiences
· Communication: Strong presentation, written, and interpersonal communication skills
· Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with current OSHA regulations, hazard recognition, risk assessment, and safety management systems
· Thorough understanding of OSHA standards (29 CFR 1910 for General Industry, 29 CFR 1926 for Construction)
· Ability to analyze workplace processes, identify hazards, and recommend effective control measures
· Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional technologies
· Commitment to ethical conduct, confidentiality, and professionalism
· Instructional Skills: Ability to break down complex concepts into clear, actionable lessons for learners with varying backgrounds
· Safety Leadership: Commitment to fostering a culture of safety
· Problem-Solving: Resourceful in resolving challenges as they arise
· Adaptability: Willingness to continuously update skills and curriculum in a rapidly evolving field
· Communication: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, including clear documentation and reporting
· Collaboration: Works effectively with colleagues, industry partners, and students from diverse backgrounds
· 3-5 years of experience and education equivalent to a bachelor's degree
· Knowledge of Petrochemical and Energy Industries processes and regulations
· Clean Driving Record as most training is conducted at various local client sites
· OQ/TQ experience/certification strongly desired
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Present New Employee Orientations, Fall Protection, Forklift, Aerial Lift, Lifting & Rigging, Excavation Safety, and a variety of other topics. The Corporate Safety Trainer will also be responsible for proctoring the many trainings required by our client sites.
· Instructional Excellence: Utilize diverse teaching methods, including lectures, interactive discussions, case studies, demonstrations, and multimedia resources to enhance learner engagement and retention
· Assessment: Evaluate participant comprehension through quizzes, exercises, and assessments; provide constructive feedback and coaching to support learning objectives
· Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate attendance, course completion records, and submit necessary documentation to OSHA-authorized training organizations
· Continuous Improvement: Solicit feedback from participants and employers to refine instructional approaches and update materials as regulations, technologies, and industry best practices evolve
· Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all training activities adhere to OSHA Outreach Training Program guidelines and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant OSHA standards and policies
· Safety Advocacy: Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for safety-related inquiries
· Design and prepare lesson plans, training aids, handouts, and supplementary materials
· Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where participants feel comfortable discussing workplace safety challenges
· Stay current with changes in OSHA standards, industry trends, and emerging hazards to ensure the accuracy and relevancy of course content
· Guide learners through practical exercises on hazard identification, personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency response, and accident investigation
· Collaborate with employers, safety committees, and other trainers to coordinate course logistics and maximize training impact
· Uphold professional and ethical standards in all instructional and mentoring activities
