Materials Manager - Solar Technology Manufacturing - Phoenix, AZ

I'm seeking a Materials Manager to oversee and optimize the flow of raw materials and finished goods for a dynamic solar technology manufacturing environment in Phoenix, Arizona.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain material pipeline based on project forecasts, bill of materials, and inventory.
• Coordinate closely with the purchasing team and occasionally negotiate supplier costs.
• Analyze inventory data daily to forecast issues and maintain accurate stock levels.
• Manage storage, movement, and distribution of materials to meet production timelines.
• Oversee shipping logistics for finished goods, special projects, prototypes, and equipment.
• Ensure timely delivery to customers and support other locations with material needs as necessary.
• Supervise employees involved in material handling, inventory control, inspection, and tool crib management using a Kanban system.
• Develop and implement best practices for inventory control and inventory write-offs.
• Negotiate with third-party transportation companies to optimize shipping costs and improve supply chain efficiency.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Strong background in materials management, supply chain operations, or logistics.
• At least 5 years' experience in similar/relevant position
• Experience with inventory systems and managing procurement pipelines.
• Experience working with vendors & 3rd parties in relation to transportation, shipping & supplier costs.
