Job Description

The Senior Product Manager is a vital member of the Nordstrom Product Management team, driving innovation in our integration platforms through data-driven insights and delivering key features, and functionality that connect Nordstrom's ecosystem with external partners.

Product Management is responsible for making sure we build the right products and features for our customers and business. To accomplish that, product managers plan the product roadmap and prioritize the applicable technology backlog, lead product discovery, and measure and communicate results of the feature portfolio in production, all while ensuring stakeholder alignment.

The Merchandising Product team is looking for someone who can lead our 3P Retail Data Exchange and Drop Ship Connect capabilities - critical platforms that enable seamless data exchange (e.g., price, product info, inventory, orders) between Nordstrom and external partners. This individual should have a strong technical background and be comfortable navigating complex integration challenges while engaging with a broad stakeholder group focusing on business outcomes.

A day in the life…

Solid practitioner of the following competencies, requiring some day-to-day management support:

  • Lead the enhancement of Data Exchange & Orchestration Platform and Drop Ship Connect as the primary product owner, collaborating with technology and business partners to define and execute our strategic roadmap.
  • Develop a deep understanding of internal and external customers and execute tactical plans to deliver key workstreams that support an annual roadmap (encompassing all stages of the product lifecycle).
  • Clearly articulate and drive partner alignment around an agile product strategy that supports the seamless integration of external partners with Nordstrom systems. Prioritize feature opportunities and manage product backlogs.
  • Take charge as the product lead for cross-functional workstreams in the Integration domain, working closely with other product and program management teams, as well as business leaders, to realize anticipated value.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business and technology teams to facilitate feature and strategy discovery, assessing technical feasibility, and business viability.
  • Lead business requirements gathering, analyze and map underlying processes, application, and data flows to guide opportunity/risk identification and scoping.
  • Support requirements definition by creating wireframes, process flows, user stories, and other relevant artifacts.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Business, and external partner teams to shape feature designs and ensure seamless execution across multiple systems.
  • Define and implement a comprehensive go-to-market strategy, encompassing User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Communication Strategy, Change Management Strategy, and post-implementation validations.
  • Establish, measure, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for product-specific features. Conduct thorough root cause analysis to identify factors impacting integration performance.

You consistently demonstrate the following strengths:

  • Energy and initiative in solving problems. You share passion for your product and, most importantly, your customers.
  • Curiosity to ask questions and seek clarity. You listen. You are a lifelong learner.
  • Problem-solving: You bring a can-do approach. You confront problems, take time to understand the issues (said, unsaid), propose solutions, and take ownership through resolution or a clear hand-off.
  • Adaptive: You can switch from complex to routine as required, all within the day.
  • Adept at dealing with ambiguity at speed and you use quantitative analysis to improve quality of decisions.
  • Evangelization of your ideas, vision, and roadmap and to all stakeholders (execs, engineering, customers/users).

You own this if you have…

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience with product management, technology, or ecommerce company preferred.
  • Domain expertise in data integration platforms, API development, and/or orchestration systems.
  • Experience with retail systems integration, especially dropship or alternative business models.
  • Strong interest in data exchange technologies and integration patterns; keen understanding of data transformation and validation requirements.
  • Ability to define, measure, and analyze processes to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Technical understanding of software development principles, microservices architecture, and API design.
  • Ability to build relationships cross-functionally with multiple teams (including Engineering, Business Operations, and external partners) and to (co-)define product strategy, roadmap, and execution.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills (up/down/sideways in the org-hierarchy).
  • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science or related experience required.
