Job Description: Senior Research Associate or Senior Scientist

(Discovery Biology – Immunology & Inflammation)

Location: Newark, California 94560

Seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Associate or Senior Scientist to join our Discovery Biology team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in immunology and inflammation, with demonstrated hands-on experience in cell-based assays and assay development. This role will contribute to our early discovery efforts by supporting multiple research programs and working collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Discovery Biology to plan and execute experimental designs for evaluating discovery candidates in tissue culture and downstream biological assays.
  • Perform hands-on benchwork including:
  • Functional assay development and optimization
  • High-throughput screening in reporter and cell-based formats
  • Plate-based assays (ELISA, MSD, Luminex)
  • Flow cytometry and primary cell-based assays
  • Analyze, interpret, and summarize experimental data, and present results to project teams in a timely and effective manner.
  • Author and revise technical documents such as testing protocols, experimental data records, and reports.
  • Maintain laboratory infrastructure including cell lines, reagent inventories, and sample tracking systems.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (MS) in Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field with 6–10 years of relevant industry experience .
  • Strong technical skills in mammalian cell culture, immune cell assays, ELISA, multiplex assays (MSD, Luminex), and flow cytometry.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools such as GraphPad Prism , FlowJo or equivalent flow cytometry software, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced research environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities.
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques is a plus.
